A little about who I am and what I do. I've spent the majority of my life flitting from one idea to another, trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. I spent twenty years on again, off again in college before graduating with the award of Top Graduating Senior in Philosophy from the University of Houston Downtown, earning my B.A.
I'm a voracious reader and love learning about new things, particularly alternative living and living life on your own terms.
I've lived in a few different states and spent two years creating a small homestead with my wife (complete with three goats and a quarter acre garden) and learning all about micro farming.
In 2012 I was diagnosed with MS and as it progressed over the next three years I quickly became disabled and unwilling to continue working. Being diagnosed was the catalyst my wife and I needed to change our lives to start pursuing our dreams. We gave away nearly everything we owned and moved into an RV to start living and travelling full time. The realization that anything could happen at anytime, and that life was unpredictable emboldened us to launch ourselves into a new lifestyle that would allow us to follow our bliss.
I had noticed for years that many people were not living the life they wanted or pursuing their dreams, but had surrendered them in order to "grow up" and be adults.
Since we've made the choice to start living life on our own terms we've searched for a way to help others do the same. So through our books, websites, coaching, and other efforts we've tried to reach out to others and to help those who are struggling to put together their own unique dream life, free from the confines of mainstream conventions.
My purpose in writing is to help others, to write books full of unconventional wisdom that hopefully acts in some way as a guide, encouragement, and inspiration for others to follow their bliss.
